RIP

President Ford. Or Uncle Gerry, as I called him. Not because I'm related to him, just because he seemed like an Uncle Gerry. There are a lot of good slide shows out there on the various news sites. Uncle Gerry was a handsome man, is all I'm saying.

Chocolate!

A well done, if slightly insane, expose on over priced chocolate sellers.

!

Thank you Blogger Beta for turning auto-login back on. Prepare for even more web-logging volume!

I'm just watching the NBC game show Identity, with your pal and mine, Penn Jillette, as host. The game is sort of stupid ("seal in the identity with your palm print"), and the editing is asinine (forced tension!). But, Penn is doing an excellent job as host. Very warm and engaging, very present on the stage. Same as ever, really, but the Penn and Teller character is very intense and aggressive, where TV host guy is much mellower. But that's probably the magic/circus background. It's all about making me feel that way so he can sneak that quarter in my ear. Seriously, give it a watch and see if you don't feel the same way. I hope to see more of him on TV.

(And I'm gushing as someone who's been a little down on Penn lately.)

Ponzi!

I never knew the actual story of the Ponzi scheme. Wasn't that how Joe Kennedy made his first million?

Whoops.

Suddenly, it all gets a little too real.

300 Say They Got Ill From Olive Garden

Let me know when people DON'T get sick eating at Olive Garden. I had some alfredo there once that I still get a little twinge off of when I think about it.

Groan

OK, so about once a week I get an unsolicited offline message on my Yahoo Messenger. (Which I have installed out of habit only, I never use it and it's always offline.) Usually it's the standard "I'm a lonely hot girl who wants to test my webcam. Click this link!" sort of message. Today, I got this one.
nyduc30834 (12/13/2006 12:23:34 PM): Hey you, are you an “old geezer”?, don’t worry about a thing then, because I really love older mature men just like you, feel free to contact me at: lvly6408beauty at hotmail

Fried God!

Gilbert Gottfried does the Penn Jilette show. It is twisted. Some fabulous Jerry Lewis impersonating. For the uninitiated, when he's singing "Never Walk Alone", that's Jerry vacillating between weeping, seriousness and wacky professor. Gottfried does a fabulous maudlin Jerry, and has his speech pattern down.

Wow!

Hey, how 'bout those Bears??

No doubt, they are holders of the NFC golden horseshoe. But that Devin Hester has got some football mojo going on. They're calling him the Windy City Flyer, I don't know if that nickname has gone national yet. Tom Thayer is out of his mind on the radio...

Robot!

http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/robots/honda-asimo-vs-slippery-stairs-220771.php

Asimo! Japan's first robot to simulate the "not-enough-fiber" walk!

The robot didn't slip, his right leg failed to push up, and when the left leg tried to raise up, it fell. That's just bad robot programming. You've got to have sensors for that shit.

Wow.

1) A fine how do you do... CLJO hangs it up.

2) I cannot think of a better example of nerdiness and bitchiness combined. Be a bigger geek-queen, huh?

3) a) 65 years ago Pearl harbor was attacked.
b) We've been fighting in Iraq longer than we fought WWII.

WRONG!

This is completely wrong in everything I know. Some of the sauce recipes could be right, but I doubt it.

A few "specifically"s:

  • There is NO MSG in the seasoning. Salt and pepper. That's it.
  • The Arch deluxe thing is just completely wrong. The sauce wasn't mustard, and the ketchup went on the heel. And I don't even think it had cheese, but I could be wrong about that.
  • The cooking process is in the wrong order.

Go buy a quarter pounder some time. The onions are not diced. There you go.

This is what I get for searching for a chili recipe.
